Montserrat Alternates is inspired by the urban typography of Buenos Aires, capturing the unique character of traditional signage and posters. Its design reflects the beauty of urban life.
Supports Latin, Latin Extended, Vietnamese, Cyrillic and Cyrillic Extended, making it suitable for internationally oriented designs and text.
Available in Light, Regular and Bold weights, including Italic styles, Suitable for various use cases, from explanatory text to body copy and headings.
The license is SIL Open Font License, allowing flexible use for commercial purposes and redistribution.
Background
The Montserrat Project was initiated by Julieta Ulanovsky, later expanded by Sol Matas, Juan Pablo del Peral, and Jacques Le Bailly, with the goal of preserving and celebrating the typographic heritage of the Montserrat neighborhood through a libre-licensed typeface.
